Engagement, Community & Belonging
The Engagement, Community & Belonging Office coordinates and supports engagement goals and actions relating to multiple Methodist University strategic initiatives:
- Embed Career Readiness and Civic Engagement in Curriculum and Campus Life by providing intentional connections between academic and career advising, expanding of on-campus and off-campus internships and professional experiences, creating coursework and research opportunities connected to the wider community, and mentoring to guide students in exploration of personal and professional vocation.
- Commit to Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging by building a campus culture that embraces, celebrates, and creates policies and practices to uphold these values.
This office helps connect MU and its students with a diverse group of community partners and provide opportunities to apply academic expertise to the needs of the community while simultaneously enhancing scholarship through the integration of community-engaged, reciprocal experiences, and exploration of diverse perspectives.
Vision
Our vision aspires to foster a community of belonging, and we invite every member of the Methodist community to join us in creating a campus environment that truly embodies the values of community, engagement, and belonging.
