Methodist University hosted some of Fayetteville’s top business leaders on campus Thursday morning as nearly a hundred professionals filled the University’s Matthews Ministry Center for the Greater Fayetteville Chamber’s monthly “Chairwoman’s Coffee Club” meeting.
The high-powered business networking breakfast allowed Chamber members to hear from a panel of speakers while connecting with other business leaders from the area. One of the day’s guest speakers was Dr. Stanley T. Wearden, president of Methodist University.
“Methodist University is engaged with the community, and it is on the move,” Wearden said. “If any [business leader] is looking for interns or volunteers, please contact us. We have a lot of excellent students here who are looking for those opportunities in the community. We also have a tremendous amount of expertise from our faculty who are always happy to work with community organizations.”
Tammy Thurman, the Greater Fayetteville Chamber’s board chair, was extremely thankful to Methodist University for hosting this month’s event.
“The collaboration is everything for us,” Thurman said. “There are so many silos in this community alone and we are honored that Methodist University is willing to help us break down some of those silos.”
