- What made you choose Methodist University’s OTD Program?
I chose the Methodist OTD program because it felt like home on my interview day. The faculty and staff had a genuine interest and investment in my development as an occupational therapist. - What do you hope to do with your OTD degree?
After graduating from the OTD program, I plan to work in an acute care or pediatric outpatient setting. I hope to bridge the gap of occupational therapy services in underserved populations such as maternal health through community programs as well. - Where is your favorite place on MU’s campus?
My favorite place on MU campus is the Thomas R. McLean Health Sciences Building or Davis Memorial Library. I love meeting friends to study in the classrooms and study rooms. - What has been your favorite travel destination and why?
My favorite travel destination thus far has been Jamaica. I loved the weather, water activities and the food! - Why do you want to practice occupational therapy?
I chose to pursue occupational therapy because the field allows for creative, individualized therapeutic intervention with a client-centered approach to reach the individual’s goals for daily activities. - What do you enjoy doing when you’re not completing your program requirements?
When I am not working on schoolwork, I enjoy going hiking, working out, hanging out with my dog, listening to podcasts or spending time with friends exploring local businesses and new cities. - What is your favorite comfort food?
My favorite comfort food is macaroni and cheese! - What is your best study tip?
Personally, I prefer to first study material alone then schedule small study groups periodically before exams to test our knowledge together! - What is your favorite movie and why?
My favorite movie is Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Will Ferrell is one of my favorite actors because he can morph into any role perfectly. - Any advice for the new, incoming freshmen?
Take advantage of the resources provided by the school, attend events on campus, take a break from studying when you can and live in the moment! Each college experience will be different, but it is all about what you put into making it memorable.
