Presidential Update

Dear Methodist University Community,

With heartfelt sorrow, I write to inform you that one of our students, Clinton Bonnell ’26M, passed away.

Clint, who was 50 and from Fayetteville, was a Physician Assistant commuter student in the class of 2026. His classmates and professors attest to Clint’s successes as a friend and student.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. We’re a close-knit community with an abundance of care for each other, which makes a loss like this all the more sorrowful for us all. Anyone on campus who may need support is invited to reach out to any of these MU resources for trained/licensed assistance:

I have no words to heal your broken hearts. All I can offer is my care and sympathy. We will do all we can to minister to your needs during this time of heavy grief. Please offer grace and care to one another, and let your faculty and staff know whenever you need help or support.

Please keep Clint’s family/friends/classmates in your thoughts, respect their privacy, be mindful of comments on social media, and continue to take care of yourselves and all fellow Monarchs. We will share detail about service arrangements, per wishes of the family, as they become available.

Sincerely,

Stanley T. Wearden, Ph.D.
President
