During the Dogwood Fall Festival this past weekend, Janiya Pipkin was recognized as 2022’s Miss Fayetteville Dogwood Festival. The 24th annual Miss Fayetteville Dogwood Festival celebrates both the talent and accomplishments of five young women: Little Miss (ages 5-7), Young Miss (8-10), Junior Miss (11-13), Teen Miss (14-17), and Miss (18-24).
At the event, Pipkin – who is earning a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice at MU – was an inspiration to many who couldn’t wait to meet her and hear about her successes as a student and a dedicated community volunteer. From singing the national anthem to the hundreds gathered, to narrating details about the city to guests on the downtown hayrides, Pipkin certainly had a full weekend of activities at the festival.
Pipkin was also featured in this Up & Coming Weekly story about the pageant winners.
