MU Physician Assistant Class of 2020 Earns 100 Percent PANCE Pass Rate

The Methodist University Physician Assistant Program Class of 2020 has earned a 100 percent pass rate on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination, according to results released by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Methodist’s 100 percent result marks four times in the past five years that MU’s Physician Assistant Program have earned a perfect pass rate. MU’s five-year average pass rate for first-time test-takers is 98 percent, compared to the national five-year rate of 95 percent.

Dr. Christina Perry, Methodist’s PA Program’s director said, “The Class of 2020 overcame significant obstacles related to COVID-19 during their clinical year. These students did not hesitate to continue to work and learn on the front lines of medicine during the pandemic. They demonstrate some of the best qualities of the PA profession with adaptability, resilience, teamwork, and strong initiative.“

MU PA graduates remain in Southeastern N.C. 

Methodist University’s Physician Assistant Program has graduated more than 650 PA’s since the program’s inception with more than half of the class of 2020 remaining in Southeastern North Carolina to alleviate the shortage of health care providers. The highly trained medical professionals from Methodist University’s program raises the medical standard and provides better health care through the state. Perry is not only the program’s director, but a professor who is proud of the graduating class’s commitment to the community.

“The Class of 2020 pass rate demonstrates one measure of the program’s excellence, but the contributions of these health care providers to the local and distant medical communities they serve will be the ultimate measure. I, and the rest of the MUPAP family, are proud beyond words of these graduates.”
