Today marked the official start of MU’s New Student Orientation – a comprehensive, three-day experience that is preparing more than 400 new students for their time as Monarchs. “I was a little nervous when I woke up this morning, but now that I’m here, I’m so happy to be here,” said Brittany Rodrick, who transferred to MU from Sandhills Community College. “I’m excited for school to start on Monday because Methodist University has a great Psychology program.”

New Student Orientation also allows students to move onto campus, locate key buildings (such as the Green & Gold Dining Hall, Library, Nimocks Fitness Center, and so many more), and settle in before the rest of the students arrive.

For freshman Alexander Peralta, Friday represented the start of a fresh chapter.

“I’m so stoked,” said Peralta, a Cary native who is majoring in PGA Golf Management. “I went to the PGM Summer Experience camp when I was in high school and loved everything about it, so I’m excited for all of the doors this University is going to open for me.”

New Student Orientation runs through Sunday evening, a perfect transition to on-campus and online classes beginning Monday. As students settle into their classes, the University is offering a variety of events and even a new “First Five” CIRCUIT series.
