Higher Education Digest, an independent higher education magazine with a widespread international audience, recently featured Methodist University as a “Prominent Online Program to Watch in 2024-25”.
“We are very pleased with the continued growth of our fully online programs,” said Methodist University Provost Suzanne Blum Malley. “In particular, we are excited to bring our excellent MU programs to working professionals, career changers, and military-connected students by offering the flexibility and resources they need to pursue their degrees.”
The publication points to a variety of factors that allow Methodist University to combine academic excellence with the convenience of online learning. Notably, MU’s online programs offer flexibility with a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an asynchronous schedule for most programs (students working at their pace rather having to be online at set times). This ensures students can further their education without sacrificing their job, family responsibilities, or personal time.
It also points to the online programs’ cutting-edge learning management system and access to all of the same resources that are available to on-campus students (Writing & Tutoring Center, Student Access & Accommodation Services, IT Help Desk, database and interlibrary loans, and more).
Higher Education Digest also features a few of the many success stories to come out of MU’s online programs – including Ryan Lucas, an Advanced Paramedicine student who’s juggling his online studies while serving as a critical care flight paramedic for the U.S. Army.
“Methodist University doesn’t make me feel like an online student, they make me feel like a Monarch,” said Lucas, who is set to graduate in May of 2025. “I’m grateful for everything that Methodist University has provided to me through this program. The faculty and staff have been there every step of the way for me.”
