Students attend the Kick Back with the Monarchs eventThe energy and enthusiasm spreading across Methodist University’s campus is real, and it’s evident that students, alumni, faculty, and staff are ready to cheer on their Monarchs this year.

On Monday night, the University’s Athletics Department hosted “Kick Back with the Monarchs” at the Berns Student Center parking lot. The free event was geared towards encouraging students to support the Monarchs throughout the year by attending games for all 20 athletic programs.

Those in attendance were able to enjoy free hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, snowballs, fried Oreos, funnel cake fries, yard games, giveaways, and more – creating a fun and festive environment on MU’s campus.

“This type of event gives everyone a chance to get to know the student athletes, which teams we have on campus, and the atmosphere we bring to Methodist University,” said junior Jeremy Mull, who plays on the men’s basketball team.

The event attracted plenty of non-student-athletes, including sophomore Caidyn Barriger.
