MU professor Dr. Patrick O’Neil will explore the way Americans in 1824 hoped that an extended visit by Lafayette, the French hero of the American Revolution, would help the country out of one of its worst political crises, and consider what that tells us about possible solutions to the problems of today.
A reception will be held before the event beginning at 6:30 p.m.
