Bio:

Elisha Chambers, Ph.D OTR/L, is an assistant professor in the entry-level Doctor of occupational therapy program at Methodist University. She earned her M.S. degree in occupational therapy from Howard University and her Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Health-Related Sciences. Dr. Chambers has 13 years of clinical experience working with children and youth from underserved populations. She has a deep passion for education and promoting belonging. Here at Methodist University, Dr. Chambers teaches the fieldwork courses, Functional Neuroscience, Leadership Seminar, and Evaluation of Occupational Performance II. Dr. Chambers’ areas of expertise include sensory integration and topics related to cultivating minority leadership in the occupational therapy profession. Dr. Chambers has presented at national and state level conferences and has made contributions to professional publications. Dr. Chambers is an active member of professional organizations such as American Occupational Therapy Association and the National Black Occupational Therapy caucus.
