Bio:

Bernadette Shilling, DMSc, PA-C, MMS, CWS, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at her alma mater, Methodist University.  She has 12 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in the areas of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Family Medicine, Corporate Medicine, and Internal Medicine.  She is a Nationally Certified Wound Specialist by the American Board of Wound Management, has DEA Licensure, and holds the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Certification from the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Physician Assistant Education Association.

Dr. Shilling received her Doctorate of Medical Science from Southern Illinois University, achieving a 4.0 GPA, have attained a grade of A in every course.  While a student at Methodist, she obtained both her Bachelor of Science in Biology with concentrations in microcell biology and health occupations (2009) and her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies (2011).

She enjoys riding her Triumph 900 Street Twin, camping with her youngest son, cruising with her husband, and enjoying “quiet times” at home with a Bernese Mountain Dog and two Australian Shepherds.
