Letters of Recommendation
The Methodist University PA Program requires three letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation must be uploaded to the CASPA application by the individual who is recommending the applicant. A maximum of five letters can be uploaded to the CASPA application. Letters sent separate of the CASPA application will not be accepted. Letters of recommendation should be from the following individuals:
- A professor or advisor within the science department of your university
- Medical personnel with whom you have worked with in a clinical setting (i.e., physician assistant, physician, supervisors). It is highly recommended that a PA write a letter of recommendation on your behalf.
- Additional professional employer. If not applicable, you may submit an additional letter from another professor or medical co-worker/ supervisor.
Applicants are considered more competitive if they are determined by the evaluator to exceed “Average” marks (‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’) in the following categories.
- Adaptability
- Conflict Resolution
- Empathy
- Intellectual Ability
- Interpersonal Relations
- Oral Communication
- Reaction to Criticism
- Reliability
- Self-Awareness
- Team Skills
- Written Communication
- Overall evaluation
