Graduation Requirements
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree includes eight semesters of undergraduate and professional level courses. Students will complete a minimum of 132 credits (113 didactic and 19 clinical). The first four semesters are spent completing general education core classes and pre-nursing core classes. For students awarded transfer credit for previous undergraduate work, this time may be less. Once students are accepted into the Nursing Program, the last four semesters are spent completing nursing major courses (63 credits).
Students must
- complete the appropriate general education/core requirements for the degree.
- meet and maintain a GPA of 2.80.
- complete all pre-nursing core courses with a grade of C or higher (no C-).
- complete all NUR courses with a grade of B- or higher.
- have met all financial obligations to the University.
- complete the appropriate general education/core requirements for the degree.
Commencement
The BSN Program Commencement takes place in May with the University’s traditional Baccalaureate and Commencement events. Undergraduate students must be within 12 credits of completing all degree requirements to be eligible to participate in the commencement ceremony. After the student has successfully completed the required coursework, experiences, and has fulfilled all financial responsibility to the University, the degree will be conferred, and the student will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN Exam and apply for state licensure.
