Academic Advising
Academic and Career Advisors are students’ main points of contact for questions about course schedules, progress to degree, and career advisement. Academic and Career Advising at Methodist University is a collaborative partnership through which advisors equip, inspire, and empower students to reach their educational and professional goals. All students are assigned an Academic and Career Advisor and remain with their advisor throughout their enrollment at the university.
The Academic and Career Advising Staff supports Methodist University’s mission to provide students with a firmly grounded liberal arts education, and therein, attends to their spiritual, academic, and social growth.
To attend to students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth, the Academic and Career Advising staff aims to build relationships with students that foster an environment of trust while inspiring students to take initiative and actively participate in the advising process. The Academic and Career Advising staff further advances its mission by providing students, faculty, and staff access to resources in multiple modalities to help facilitate direction in planning, exploration of careers, and efficiency in enrollment in academic programs of study. The Academic and Career Advising staff strongly supports the efficient, ethical, and intentional action of college advisors to provide effective advisement that fosters student success.
