About Cape Fear Valley Health

Since Cape Fear Valley Medical Center opened in 1956, it has grown into North Carolina’s eighth-largest health system.

Although Cape Fear Valley Health is based in Fayetteville, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and its various satellite campuses serve a eight-county region of southeastern North Carolina.

Cape Fear Valley is a private, not-for-profit health system governed by a Board of Trustees that includes all the Cumberland County commissioners, as well as physicians, registered nurses, and various members of the community.
