Library Competency Classes
What is it?
The Library Competency class provides MU students with an orientation to the library services along with instruction on using the library’s online catalog, the electronic resources, and the fundamentals of information literacy.
What happens next?
After a student has completed the Library Competency requirement by attending and scoring 70% or higher on the Library Competency Test, his or her name is sent to the registrar’s office; for the registrar to make a note on the student’s transcript stating that the requirement has been fulfilled.
Who is it for?
All students at Methodist University must complete this class before completing 60 credits.
Note: Class size is limited to 25 students. Please provide your name and MU ID number as it appears on your ID card, and a contact phone number. Classes may be canceled due to a lack of interest. Classes start promptly at the scheduled times. Due to the accelerated nature of the class, anyone arriving more than ten minutes past the start time will be asked to register for another session.
