Methodist University has engaged, enriched, and empowered students for over 50 years. One of many on-campus student employment organizations, the Monarch Student Marketing Agency provides experiential learning opportunities by working with local organizations on actual strategic marketing initiatives. Students majoring in marketing, communications, graphic design, and other areas can apply for the positions listed below. Here, students share their experiences.

Student Positions
The Monarch Student Marketing Agency hires students for part-time positions each semester studying in Graphic Design, Communication & Media, Marketing, and related fields. Students are allowed to work up to 10 hours per week. Current positions of employment are listed below.

Special Project Marketing Supervisor
Support community organizations with their marketing needs, including conducting marketing research through survey development and tracking results using QuestionPro. Responsibilities include managing social media, digital marketing, and direct email campaigns, and supervising work-study employees to ensure timely completion of tasks and coordinating with Agency team members as needed.
Preferred Qualification: Marketing major in their 3rd or 4th year, completion of MKT 1510 and MKT 4550 preferred.
Special Project Marketing Assistant
Support community organizations with their marketing needs, including social media, digital marketing, and direct mail campaigns. Conduct marketing research by developing surveys, using QuestionPro for development, and tracking results for client updates, and work with Agency team members.
Preferred Qualifications: Marketing major in their 3rd or 4th year, completion of MKT 1510 and MKT 4550 preferred.
Communication Content Writer
Responsible for generating ideas, writing and editing marketing and communication material, and ensuring brand consistency in published materials. Collaborate with clients and Agency team members to publish content for owned and earned media. Attends university events as needed and performs additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Preferred Qualification: Communication & Media major in their 3rd or 4th year, completion of COM/CME 2570 and/or ENG 1010 preferred.
Special Project Graphic Design
Supports community organizations with marketing needs related to graphic design and creative services which include printed materials, social media, digital marketing and direct mail campaigns, by providing tailored solutions that enhance their visibility, engage their audience, and effectively communicate their mission.
Preferred Qualifications: Graphic Design major in their 3rd or 4th year, completion or current enrollment in AGD 2000 and AGD 2020 preferred.
Marketing & Sales Associate
Develop a business and marketing plan for a community-based cooperative advertising program. Create a community website to showcase local businesses and provide resources for consumers and military families. This position will design targeted digital advertising campaigns using geofencing and social media ads, manage client outreach, strategize the inclusion of call listing, serve as account managers, and edit and maintain website content. Training will be provided by 5West Media, Influence Digital Agency, and Bill McMillan (Restore Warehouse).
Preferred Qualification: Marketing or Communication & Media majors who are in their 2nd year or higher. Students should have completed the MKT 1510 or CME 1050 course. Students who have completed 9-12 hours within the Marketing or Communications and Media major/minor courses preferred.
