The
University's Emergency Alert Notification
System will be activated when a tornado warning is received.
- The Alert Now notification system will send a message regarding
the severe weather by landline, cell phone, and e-mail.
- The air siren will be activated continuously for 3 minutes
to alert persons outside buildings of the warning.
When you receive the Alert Now message and/or you hear the siren
activate, you should do the following:
- If time permits move to an inner office, bathroom, hallway,
etc. that is away from windows and doors.
- Seek shelter under a desk or under other furniture and assume
a curled position using your arms to cover your head from possible
falling debris.
- Assist any visitors/students not familiar with the building
in moving to a safer location.
- Stay put until University or city authorities inform you that
it is safe to come out.
- Recommendations for shelter areas: Payroll/Accounts

an inner office, bathroom, hallway, etc. that is away from windows
and doors.
