Room Selection Process for Returning Students

Welcome to Methodist University and the Residential Community!  We are excited and anticipating your arrival in August. 

We want to make sure your process to select your room and suitemate is a seamless transaction.  To better orchestrate this process, please find below a summary of our room selection process.  You may find the instructions for the process on your my MU Student Portal.  If you should have difficulties logging onto your Student Portal, please contact our IT office at (910) 630-7300.

Please follow each date and step in the order they appear below.  You must accept the New Housing Contract and complete the Personal Preference form before you can search for a roommate.

Steps for Selecting a Room

  1. April 1 - June 5:  Accept New Housing Contract and Complete Personal Preference Form
  2. April 1 - June 18: Select Roommate
  3. June 8:  Receive Lottery Number and Times
  4. June 17:  Select your Room by your Student Lottery Time
