Annual Womack Lecture in Philosophy and Religion Speaker Nicholas Wolterstorff will talk on “Love and Justice: What’s the Problem?” at 11 a.m. and then “Love and Justice: What’s the Solution?” at 2 p.m. today in
Yarborough Auditorium, Clark Hall. Wolterstorff is the Noah Porter Professor Emeritus of Philosophical Theology and Fellow of Berkeley College at Yale University. A prolific writer with wide-ranging philosophical and theological interests, he has written books on metaphysics, aesthetics, political philosophy, epistemology and the philosophy of religion.

Mediation training There will be mediation training for students, faculty and staff on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Alumni Dinning Room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You must attend both days. The training will be conducted by Cumberland County Dispute Resolution Center. If you complete both days and then participate in five supervised mediation sessions at the Center, you will receive your state certification. The cost is $25 and must be submitted to Wendy Vonnegut (ext. 7491) by Thursday, Nov. 12. Space is limited. Contact Wendy Vonnegut if you have any questions.
Help a neighbor in need. Stop by the 2nd Annual Cans Across The Basketball Court event on Nov. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and bring in a donation of a non-perishable food item. We are attempting to circle the outdoor court at least once with all donated food items. You’ll be helping to stop hunger in our community and maybe even set a Guinness World Record!

Keep your stuff safe while you're away. Thanksgiving break is fast approaching. If you are leaving campus for the break, take your valuables with you if you can. Lock all doors and windows to your residence hall room. If your vehicle is left on campus during break, please park in the Trustee's lot near the Welcome Center. Student Media will be taking yearbook portraits upstairs in Berns from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nov. 16 to Nov 20. There is no cost to have your picture taken. Everyone who has their picture taken can get free Chick-fil-A. Clubs can also have group pictures taken at this time.
Share the Warmth Attend the annual Jesse Smith Woodcutting Project on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and help cut, stack, load and deliver wood from Methodist University to needy families in the local area. Some residents depend on this program each year to help them heat their homes during the winter months. The day starts at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria for a hot breakfast.
