Dr. Sharon Kendrick, Director
Dr. Kendrick has served at Methodist University since 2007 as both an Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Director of the Resort, Club, and Hospitality Management Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Management and Business Administration. Dr. Kendrick is certified by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation and the American Hotel and Lodging Association as an instructor. She is also a Certified Wine Sommelier by the International Wine Guild and a member of the Club Managers Association of America, the Society for Human Resource Managers, and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.
Dr. Kendrick works extensively with students both in and out of class. In addition to her teaching, she is invloved with many student leadership initiatives, organizations and charitable projects.
Mr. Adalberto "Al" Stratta , Executive in Residence
Mr. Stratta has served as Executive in Residence to the Resort, Club, and Hospitality Management Program since 2001. Prior to this position, Mr. Stratta held numerous high profile positions in the hospitality industry, including President and CEO of The Beverly Hills Hotel and Managing Director of the Lodge at Vail, which under his leadership gained recognition as the Best Ski Resort Hotel in America.
Mr. Stratta is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, where he was an All-American in Soccer and an inductee of the Athletic Hall of Fame. During his career he has played host to many notable guests including Queen Elizabeth II, King Umberto of Italy, Presidents Ronald Reagan, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, and famous entrepreneur, Howard Hughes.
