MU Writing Center Presents "Exploring Your Erroneous Zones: Why Fact-Checking Matters"

At a time when misinformation seems to be bombarding us from all directions, Methodist University’s Writing Center presents “Exploring Your Erroneous Zones: Why Fact-Checking Matters,” Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Physician Assistant Medical Lecture Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Dr. Mark Kline, chair of the psychology department; Dr. Kevin Swift, chair of the mass communications department; archives librarian Arleen Fields; and Kim Hasty, director of university relations; will discuss the topics of confirmation bias and the danger of failing to check the facts before we buy into today’s headlines.
