NCAA Monopoly Lecture Nov. 3 at Methodist University

The Methodist University Reeves School of Business will present a “Big Issue Series” lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in Yarborough Auditorium in Clark Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The lecture, “The NCAA; An Examination of Monopoly Power,” will feature MU faculty members Dr. Bill Kuchler, associate professor of sport management and director of the Sport Management Program, and Dr. Spence Davis, associate professor of financial economics. The two will speak on the history of the sports powerhouse and address the current issues and controversy surrounding it.

Methodist University Celebrates $41.2 Million Raised for "Campaign for Methodist University - Building Excellence"

Methodist University celebrated the official end of the Campaign for Methodist University – Building Excellence Oct. 20, 2016. The largest fundraising initiative in the University’s history, the campaign surpassed its $35 million goal and raised a University-record $41,266,820. The final campaign total was announced at the celebration.

Methodist University Receives Phi Kappa Phi Chapter

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi has announced approval of a new chapter to be installed at Methodist University. Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.

Once installed, the Methodist University chapter will join more than 300 Phi Kappa Phi chapters in North America and the Philippines. The Society inducts approximately 30,000 new members each year.

Methodist University Homecoming This Weekend Includes Hurricane Disaster Relief Project

Methodist University will celebrate its 2016 Homecoming and Family Weekend on Oct. 21 and 22. This is Methodist’s 52nd annual Homecoming. The celebration will include athletic events, alumni reunions, awards ceremonies, and events for families.

Methodist University to Hold Campaign Celebration Oct. 20

Methodist University will celebrate the official end of the Campaign for Methodist University – Building Excellence from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 20, 2016. The celebration will be held in the new Thomas R. McLean Health Sciences Building.
