Methodist University Senior Exhibition "Transformation" Runs Dec. 3-12 at the McCune Gallery

The Methodist University Department of Art announces “Transformation,” a senior exhibition by Methodist University student Loreto Oreckinto. The exhibition will hold its opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 3, in the David McCune International Art Gallery, where the artist will be on hand to discuss her work.

The show will run until Dec. 12 during normal gallery hours, which are Tuesday through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery is closed weekends, Mondays, and school breaks.

Methodist University Announces 43rd Winter Commencement

Methodist University will celebrate its 43rd annual Winter Commencement Ceremony Saturday, December 12, at 2 p.m. in the March F. Riddle Center. There are currently 232 candidates for graduation.

Mrs. Amy P. Perko, executive director of the Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics, will deliver the commencement address. The University will present the University Medallion to Mr. Don K. Price, a longtime supporter of Methodist with a distinguished record of community involvement.

Inaugural Reeves School of Business Symposium and Awards Dinner Recognizes Local Business Members

The Reeves School of Business (RSB) at Methodist University held the Inaugural Reeves School of Business Symposium and Awards Dinner tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 4760 Lake Valley Dr., Fayetteville. 

Methodist University Named Military Friendly School for Fifth Consecutive Year

Methodist University has been named a 2016 Military Friendly School by Victoria Media. The university’s recognition on the Military Friendly School list cited the university’s support for student veterans on campus, graduation and employment outcomes for student veterans, and opportunities offered to military spouses. The 2016 list highlights more than 1,400 Military Friendly Schools. 2016 marks the fifth year in a row that Methodist University has received the Military Friendly designation.

Methodist University Theatre to Perform "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"

The Methodist University Department of Theatre will present “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” on the stage of Huff Concert Hall Nov. 12-14 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for students/seniors/military, and $4 for children. Because the production contains language some may find offensive, the production is not recommended for children.

NCAA Chief Medical Officer to Speak at Methodist University

Methodist University’s Institute for Sport Science and Wellness will host Dr. Brian Hainline, chief medical officer of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Monday, Nov. 9. Hainline will speak on “Health and Medical Issues in Sports” at 7:30 p.m. in the Medical Lecture Hall in the Physician Assistant Building on campus. The event is free and open to the public.
