Public Safety Leadership Development Consortium

Two Masters in Justice Administration faculty will assume new roles in the in the Public Safety Leadership Development Consortium (PSLDC). Dr. Mark Bowman (right) was elected to a two year term as President and Executive Board Chair and Dr. Darl Champion was appointed to the Executive Board. The PSLDC is an international organization of academics and professionals involved in developing public safety leaders.

Offender Based Investigations Program

The Gaston County, North Carolina Police Department's Offender Based Investigations (OBI) program was featured at the recent International Association of Chiefs of Police annual conference in San Diego, California. The OBI program was the topic of then Assistant Chief James Buie's Masters in Justice Administration Capstone research project that he completed in December 2010. Chief Buie's program evaluation was instrumental in validating the worth of the OBI program. James was appointed Chief of the Gaston County Police Department in May 2011 and continues to lead that department and his profession. Click below to view a video presentation about the OBI program.
