Program Overview

The health care industry is one of the largest in the United States, and both private and government sources forecast a twenty percent growth in health care administration positions through the year 2020.

Methodist University's major in Health Care Administration offers career preparation for men and women who are entering college immediately following high school or who are transferring from other colleges, including community and technical colleges. Our evening program allows non-traditional students to have the flexibility of completing degree requirements while continuing to fulfill responsibilities of home, family, and work. The Health Care Administration major provides outstanding opportunities for professional growth and development for current employees of health care facilities, government agencies or other organizations related to the health care industry. We also offer a minor for those from other fields who wish to add Health Administration to their resume, and a concentration in conjunction with the Reeves School of Business. Both the minor and concentration in business are outstanding resume builders!

The Health Care Administration major can also be a springboard for graduate school or work in one of many health care specialties, including health care administration, business administration, public administration, political science or law. Students leaving our program have had excellent success entering the graduate program of their choice. We also offer a Health Care Administration Graduate Certificate, ans well as a focus in the nationally accredited Professional MBA within the Reeves School of Business to prepare our students to advance up the career ladder to mid-level and senior level positions.
