The administration of programs and organizations in health care requires knowledge, skill, and a strong sense of compassion for others. The Health Care Administration program prepares students to enter, or advance, into the management area in a variety of positions and organizations related to the health care field. These positions could involve being a provider relation's coordinator, a marketing/public relations director, a medical group practice manager, a public health worker, an insurance group analyst, an administrator in a not-for-profit organization like the CARE Clinic or Red Cross, a department head in a hospital, or many other professional entry or mid-level positions. The Health Administration Degree could also be a springboard for graduate school in health care administration, business administration, public administration, political science or law. Methodist University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of
the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award master's and
baccalaureate degrees. The Health Care Administration Program is fully
certified by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration
(AUPHA), and is one of only 3 program in the state to achieve such status.
