Curriculum

Requirements for the Major in Health Care Administration:

36 semester hours which include the following courses:

Required courses: HCA 2000, HCA 3050, HCA 3300, HCA 3400, HCA 3500, HCA 3600, HCA 4500, HCA 4700 and HCA 4800.

The student must choose three additional courses from this list of elective courses: HCA 3400, HCA 4100, HCA 4200, HCA 4400, and HCA 4700.

*All students (traditional or non-traditional) who do not have a minimum of five (5) years work experience (documented) in a health-related organization will be required to take the BHC 4800, Health Care Internship, course as a requirement for graduation with the Health Care Administration degree.

Requirements for the Foundation Courses:

ACC 2510, ACC 2530, CSC1000, ECO 2160, ECO 2610, ECO 2620, BUS 3200, BUS 3520, and MKT 2510.

Requirements for the Minor in Health Care Administration (18 s.h.): HCA 2000, HCA 3050, HCA 3500, HCA 3500, and any two from the list of electives above.

Requirements for the Concentration in Business Health Care Administration (available to majors in the Reeves School of Business): 24 s.h. - HCA 2000, HCA 2300, HCA 3050, HCA 3500, HCA 4500, plus three additional HCA courses listed below.
