in the Classroom
Methodist University is a recipient of a federal Title III grant for technology. The grant will match dollar-for-dollar up to $150,000 to be placed in an endowment specifically designated for technology needs in the classroom and faculty training related to technology. The endowment funds will be invested, and the growth and earnings will assist us with technology upgrades as the future reshapes the way we teach and how students learn.
The challenge grant is set-up in such a way that if we do not raise $150,000 by September 30, 2015 then Methodist University will not be awarded the money. Help us share the news of this great opportunity, which will provide Methodist with a total of $300,000 in an endowment earmarked for Technology in the Classroom. The earnings from the endowment will pay for items like smart podiums, smart boards, software, ipads, and training for faculty in how to use this technology for the benefit of the students.
It is very important for us to stay current with the technology that we offer inside the classroom to stay competitive in education. Technology also plays a role in creating an enhanced interactive learning environment so the students retain more of what is being taught.
