School of Graduate Studies

Welcome to the School of Graduate Studies at Methodist University!

Dr. George Hendricks, Dean
The programs we offer extend the University's overall mission to the graduate level, combining a professional emphasis with scholarship and critical analysis, and instilling in their graduates the importance of lifelong learning to support professional development.

Currently, the School of Graduate Studies offers four Master's degree programs: A Master of Medical Science (MMS) in Physician Assistant Studies, a Master of Education, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Justice Administration.

The Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies

The MMS in PA Studies is accredited at the national level by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistants (ARC-PA) and is recognized as a very high quality and competitive program. The program, which started at a bachelor’s level program, began in 1996. Ninety-eight percent of the graduates are practicing physician assistants in a variety of medical settings and specialties. Eighty-six percent of the program’s graduates currently practice in North Carolina. For more information, please check out the MMS in Physician Assistant Studies website.

The Master of Education

The M.Ed. is the newest of our graduate programs, with enrollment beginning in Summer 2012. Two concentrations will be available: literacy (reading) and special education: general curriculum. For more information, please check out The Master of Education website.
