Methodist University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate,
and masters degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern

about the accreditation of Methodist University.
The university is also a member of the North Carolina Association of
Colleges and Universities, the North Carolina Association of Independent
Colleges and Universities, and the North Carolina Association for Colleges
of Teacher Education. It is approved by the Division of Certification
and Standards of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for
the preparation of public school teachers and by the University Senate
of the United Methodist General Board of Education.
Program Accreditations and Approvals:
- The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)
certifies that the Athletic Training program,
Methodist University, Fayetteville, North Carolina, has completed an
accreditation review and is judged to be in compliance with the nationally
established standards.
- The Charles M. Reeves Reeves School of Business
is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools
and Programs (ACBSP) to offer the following business degrees: the Bachelor
of Arts (B.A.) in Business Administration, Accounting, and Financial
Economics; the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration,
Accounting, Financial Economics and Marketing; the Associate of Arts
(A.A.) with a subject concentration in Accounting, Business Administration,
Financial Economics, and Marketing.
- PGA Golf Management is accredited
by the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA).
- The Physician Assistant program received
accreditation from The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health
Education Programs in October, 1998. The Physician Assistant program
is accredited through the Accreditation Review Commission on Education
for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA).
- The Teacher Education Program is
accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher
Education (NCATE).
- The Teacher Education program, approved
by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and NCATE, provides
courses of study for the following teaching licenses: Elementary Education
(K-6); Secondary Education (9-12): mathematics, history; Special Subjects
(K-12): art, gifted, music, physical education, special education: general
curriculum.
- The Social Work program
is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education to offer a B.S.W.
degree.
