Tameka Bright joined the Monarchs for the 2012-13 year after spending two years as head coach at Cape Fear Community College.

Bright brings nearly 10 years of cheer coaching experience to Methodist. Prior to her time at Cape Fear, she spent time at the high school and recreation levels. During her coaching career at the high school level, her team advanced to the CANAM Nationals twice where they played in the top 10. In 2014, Bright and the Monarchs made a triumphant return to the national stage, capturing the medium collegiate section national championhip at the Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM.

Bright earned her bachelor's degree from George Mason University and recently completed her master's degree from Concordia University.

She holds certifications and credentials from the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators (AACCA), National Federation High School (NFHS) Stunts and Progression 1 and 2, Motions, Jumps, National Council Spirit Safety and Education (NCSSE) Coaching Stunts and Tumbling 1, Program Management and Cheer Fundamentals, United States All-Star Federation Tosses Level 1-2.
