Kendyl Clarkson, Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

B.S., St. Bonaventure University

Kendyl Clarkson assumed the head coaching position at Methodist in the fall of 2013. A native of Painted Post N.Y., she was a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team at Buffalo State from 2008-2012, and previously served as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University from the summer of 2012 through the fall of 2013.

In her first season at the helm, Clarkson led the Monarchs to a 5-12 record (3-5 USA South), a four-game improvement from the 2013 season. The Monarchs returned to the USA South Conference Tournament where they were ousted by third-seeded Ferrum in the quarterfinal round.

While a member of the women’s lacrosse team at Buffalo State, Clarkson was a four-time all-conference selection, was three times named all-region, and earned IWLCA All-America honors as a junior. Twice she led NCAA Division III in assists per game (2010, 2011). Her 88 assists in 2012 led the country and tied the NCAA Div. III mark for most assists in a season. That same year, she helped lead the Bengals to their first-ever NCAA Tournament, where they advanced to the second round. For her career, she finished with 385 points, a total that ranks 11th all-time in NCAA Division III and second all-time at Buffalo State.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Clarkson was also a member of Buffalo State’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, a Student Orientation Leader and the women’s lacrosse representative on the Athletic Leadership Conference.
Upon graduating in the spring of 2012 with a B.S. in individualized studies, Clarkson enrolled in the masters’ program at St. Bonaventure while coaching with the women’s lacrosse team. As an assistant coach with the Bonnies, Clarkson served as the team’s offensive coordinator, taking responsibility for offensive strategy and play development, individual skill enhancement and conditioning, and game-time decisions. She also served as the team’s recruiting coordinator. Other coaching experience includes numerous club programs and camps throughout the Northeast.
