I embrace the active, cooperative, and inductive learning models in lieu of traditional lecture teaching to help my students become experienced and qualified in the business of sport management. It is critical that my students gain as much real world experience as possible before they graduate in order to enable them to qualify and compete for more prestigious and lucrative positions.
My research interests are in the areas of sport marketing, sport tourism, and management of sport related non-profit organizations. I specialize and volunteer in economic impact studies of mass participation events.
I enjoy competing in triathlons and cycling events. I also enjoy crossfit workouts for an additional challenge. I spend many hours operating my personal business a bicycle shop/studio and performance lab. As a consultant I work with elite military personnel and Ironman athletes in designing training and performance strategies.
