Bio:

Darrin Thiriot began clarinet studies at age 12 and was hooked from the start. He holds a B.M. degree in Music Education (University of Utah) and an M.M. degree in Clarinet Performance (Northwestern University). His teachers include Kathy Pope, Christie Lundquist, Russell Dagon, Lawrie Bloom, and Eugene Mondie. Darrin spent over a decade as a member of the Air Force Band (Washington D.C). This is his third season as principal clarinet with the Fayetteville Symphony separated by three years when he served as the Assistant Conductor of the West Point Band at The United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. As an Adjunct Music Instructor at Methodist University, he teaches music history, woodwind methods, and applied clarinet studies. Darrin is an avid soccer fan and enjoys playing chamber music with his family of violinists.
