Sociology is the study of human
society. At Methodist University, our sociology major allows you
to examine human society at every
level--from world cultures to society and self. You also examine
the many social issues facing our culture today--drugs, sports and
gender, to
name a few. Small classes and skilled professors create fascinating
discussion and debate. Data analysis is taught in SPSS for Windows.
As a
senior, your studies culminate in an internship at an approved local
community organization. Internship opportunities have included juvenile
court counselors, nursing home activities coordinators, school guidance
counselors and group home staff members. There is an honor society
available to sociology majors.
